Thriving Through Summer: How Community Fuels My Busiest Season

Hello Vision & Heels fam,

As July kicks off, I'm sitting down to write this, and I can already feel the whirlwind that this month promises to be for me and my family. It’s a period packed with commitments, celebrations, and, of course, the ongoing demands of running a business. This year marks my second-year volunteering at a youth camp in North Carolina, an incredibly rewarding week that truly fills my cup. No sooner do I return than we dive headfirst into celebrating my daughter’s 13th birthday – a big milestone! And just when I think I might catch my breath, we'll be setting sail on a family cruise. Somewhere amidst all of this, I'll be trying to carve out a moment to celebrate my own birthday.
All these personal adventures are happening while I'm simultaneously navigating the daily operations of our brick-and-mortar business and, even more excitingly, launching my very own brand and new offerings. It's a lot, and I'll be honest, remembering to prioritize self-care can easily fall by the wayside.
The Power of Your Tribe
What I’ve discovered, and what has been an absolute game-changer for me, is the incredible value of having a supportive network. Finding a group of friends who are navigating similar seasons of life has been instrumental. These are the people who understand the unique challenges of balancing professional ambition with personal responsibilities. They’re the ones who can help you stay accountable when your to-do list feels endless, and they're also the ones who remind you to breathe, rest, and recharge.
It’s easy for self-care to feel like another item on an already overflowing list, especially during the summer months when children are home and constantly seeking attention and entertainment. But taking that time for yourself, even in small pockets, is not a luxury; it’s a necessity for sustained energy and focus.
Vision & Heels: More Than Just a Business, It's a Community
It’s in moments like these – when the demands are high and the days are packed – that I truly appreciate what we've built here at Vision & Heels. We are so much more than just a business; we are a vibrant community of individuals, all striving to set goals, smash them, and uplift each other along the way. We share in each other's triumphs and empathize during the challenges. We laugh, we cry, and most importantly, we work together.
This sense of camaraderie has been incredibly powerful for me personally. Witnessing the dedication and progress of my fellow Vision & Heels members inspires and motivates me to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. There’s an undeniable energy that comes from being surrounded by people who are actively pursuing their dreams.
Find Your People
If you’re not local to our DeLand community, I wholeheartedly encourage you to seek out your own tribe, your people. Find those individuals who uplift you, challenge you, and understand your journey. Whether it's a professional networking group, a social club, or simply a close-knit circle of friends, having that support system is a game-changer. Trust me on this – you will thank me later!
How are you navigating your busy summer months? I’d love to hear your tips and strategies for staying balanced and motivated.
